but why isn't the amount of chess games infinite if you can just waste moves by going forward and backward an infinite amount of times
Has there been a video about the possible number of games of Yahtzee? I got to believe that's a reasonable, definable — but very large — number.
OMG NUMBERPHILE=PEDOPHILE=SEXY NUMBAS!!!
müve it dude ^^
endless in my opinion..? maybe its senceless then, but it is endless
50 moves draw also includes the lose of castling rights. For instance, if you reach the endgame with out having moved your king and a rock and you do a silent king move on a the 49th ply the counter is also set back to 0 …
That's amazing. And Chess is such a simple construct, at least compared to things like "number of possible processes a human can do in their lifecycle".
How has no one picked up on when he says 'in passing' at 3:14, that's the English translation of the en passant rule
what is the number of full games to a win or a draw not incomplete games of just a pawn moving then stopping. to me that's not the number of games but the number of possible moves that can be made in any game ever played.
Fawk chess,
Imagine the number of ways 10^80 atoms could be arranged in the universe?
Now THATS a number I would love to know !
Where would an estimate using 11800 moves fall compared to shannon and hardy's estimates? More than shannons, but less thant hardy's?
Out of each move made, a different number of possible legal moves is generated. This make the whole multiplication idea almost nonsense.
Also, let's not forget about the insufficient material rule.
So, how possibilities for 11800, are they more than the atoms on the observable universe? Come on, break the limits of the human domains, how much?, is anyone or something solved that?
James is so compelling he could probably keep most of us watching discussing tax law
That first chess game, Brady sacrificed his queen and both his rooks and won the game!
I though it was electrons not atoms
